Opening act 23 contest explanation (updated -placed 4th)

UPDATE: I wound up in 4th place and did not make the final round but it was a great experience overall.

pros and cons if you decide to do this next year

-you will get more plays on youtube or whatever you post on the opening act site

-you will get votes from people you have not talked to in a while and it's great to reconnect

-have to update your online info and what you have on social sites will also need updating

-promoting yourself is hard and seems at times annoying asking for votes

-you will get lots of spam of promoters or paid voters...ignore this

-people will do a quick google search and warn you it's a scam (I thought this early on as well)

-make sure everything is done through the opening act contest site

In this video I briefly talk about a contest that can potentially get you on a

stage with major label acts such as Billie Elish, Weezer and Lizzo.

The idea is simple you post some of your music and people vote on it.

It is a benefit concert for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

DS-10.jp is a group of volunteer users of the Nintendo DS software "KORG DS-10" series, which was released as an analog synthesizer simulator in 2008. We operate this site ( https://ds-10.jp/ ) and Twitter account ( @ds10jp ), and conduct community activities related to the DS-10, as well as music activities such as composing and performing with the DS-10.

Ten years have passed since the DS-10 was born.
I decided to do something for the 10th anniversary, and with the help of 37 people, I was able to make a compilation album.

ONE DECADE OF DS-10

Today, July 24, 2018, 10 years after the release of DS-10, it will be released from Bandcamp first.

My life changed a lot before DS-10 and after.
Until then, I had been making music for a long time, but it was with the DS-10 that I started sending music to the outside world.

Last week, I was invited to a party and performed live.
At that time, I used two DS units and two DS-10 cartridges. 10 years later and I'm still using it. I will probably use it for the rest of my life.

opening act contest (details in description) michael nervOus opening for a major label artist?

All the music I have up right now is made with korg gadget or the korg ds 10. If you get a chance to vote for me to open up for a major musical act in new york, that would be greatly appreciated. Also it may be fun to see the ds-10 being used in front of an audience of that size....also me or an experimental act opening for a major act would probably be an experience that those fans would not normally get to see.
